So I realize that maybe no one will ever read this - and I am possibly just putting it out into the universe, but hey it's my blog so I can do whatever I want right?
When did the art of theatre etiquette get lost. I mean when did people forget how to behave properly when seeing a show. Any show... even a children's Christmas Show. Tonight my wife and I attended our son's Christmas Show at their church. He was in the Chime Choir. Other grades including the cutest little Kindergartners all the way up to 3rd Graders all sang songs of the season. But during every song people were moving around, getting up in the middle, walking out, walking in late, standing up and moving around to take photographs. It was so distracting and rude. I mean yes I understand wanting to get a photograph of your child singing or playing an instrument, but did that have to involve so much distracting movement.
I remember a few years ago going to Broadway and sitting to see The Lion King. As the show is starting a family of 4 comes in late, and start opening, loudly, wrapped sandwiches. We complained to them about the noise and they said they were late and their family was hungry - we said go eat outside - we didn't pay $100 a ticket to hear you eat.
People - sit, watch, enjoy and don't be so distracting - we all want to get photos and videos of our kids, but at what expense. I was amazed that the kids did so well with all the distraction. Well done kids - you showed more professionalism and poise then most of your parents did tonight.
